We have recently made the swap to Kokako’s Purely Intense Hot Chocolate as our hot chocolate of choice in all Farro stores and this is the brand we serve if you pop in for a mocha or hot chocolate. Blended by hand by Kokako, they combine the finest Fairtrade organic cocoa and golden cane sugar to create not only a more sustainable product but a far more natural product. Free from colourants and artificial flavours, we find this hot chocolate to be more ‘real’ tasting and certainly a lot less sweet due to the use of the cane sugar. Certified by the Fairtrade Association and BioGro, the ingredients for Kokako hot chocolate are ethically sourced to ensure farmers are paid a fair price for their crops and the production methods are environmentally and socially sustainable. High-grade cocoa is sourced from the Fairtrade Conacado and Fundopo cooperatives in the Dominican Republic and the golden cane sugar is produced by the Manduvir cooperative in Paraguay. Kokako hot chocolate is also free from pesticides and herbicides as well as other nasty additives, such as emulsifiers, fillers, colours or flavourings.
