This super-fast salad makes for an easy barbecue dinner that’s fresh, flavour-forward and full of texture. By the time the steak is cooked and rested, the salad is made. For a more substantial meal serve with rice or rice noodles.
Season the steak with salt and grill for 3-4 mins each side or done until your liking. Set aside and rest for 10 mins before slicing. Combine the chilli, sesame oil and soy sauce and set aside. Combine the salad ingredients, add the dressing and serve with the steak.
1 rump steak
1 finely chopped red or green chilli
grated zest and juice 1 lime
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 cucumber, seeds removed and chopped
3 spring onions, chopped
½ cup coriander leaves, chopped
¼ cup roasted peanuts, chopped
